Yellow

This week’s challenge over at www.iheartfaces.com is “Yellow” and that’s exactly what I think of when I look at this picture, so it’s my entry for this week.  She was a sweet little one year old girl sitting next to me at a poetry reading for my son’s third grade class, she was just a cutie and I had to snap some shots of her.   Head on over to the website and check out all the other entries, there are great photos there!  What a cheerful week of pictures this will be!I Heart Faces - Photo Challenges, Tutorials and Tips

Wooden Shoes

My youngest daughter begged her daddy to bring her wooden shoes when he recently visited Amsterdam.  She was so excited to get them (in her favorite color) and equally excited to show them off!

Not always the perfect model…..

It’s definitely handy to have kids around to practice taking pictures……and she’s definitely my go-to-girl when I need someone to pose, although today she WASN’T a perfect model.  Thought I would get her to let me take a few pics so I could experiment with some editing but instead I got these……………………………………………….Freaking out over a TEENY TINY spider she saw……

……and here she is……………..still freaking out over the spider……..I know she gets it from me, LOL!

Here she’s just irritated…..she’s trying to make a deal with me for posing…………..the deal isn’t working

and now just annoyed and refusing to help me out.

Happy Easter!

Oh my goodness, I just love shooting newborns!  This little guy would not cooperate, he didn’t fall asleep the whole time!  He’s just lovely though, and since it’s Easter weekend I have time to share just one of him.  I’ll have more ready later!

Playing with actions

So forever, I’ve been doing everything in Photoshop the long way.  I finally decided to try out some actions.  So I downloaded some from Pioneer Woman and Coffeshop and thought I’d show some of my favorites.  I started with this pic, which is pretty much straight out of the camera, except I cloned out some of the jelly sandwich that was around her mouth and a little scratch (from the cat) on her cheek.  LOL  anyway, here’s where I started…

And here is the photo after running Coffe Shop’s action Soft Autumn glow.  Kinda cool, but I like the others to come better.

Now here’s the picture after running Coffe Shop’s Splendor black and white….

And here it is with the same action from Coffe Shop…Splendor black and white except I tweaked some of the layers and came up with this, which I think is my favorite of the ones here.

And finally here is an action from Pioneer Woman called Seventies…….I kind of like this too…..although you can get this same effect if you lay your pictures out in the sun and let them fade for about 35 years……….

Anyway, just having some fun with actions, thought I’d let everyone in on it♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I Heartfaces weekly challenge “angles”

I love this picture of this couple with their newborn.  I had them on the floor while I walked around them and shot them from many different angles.  I love this angle because it’s not your typical one for a family shot.

Another picture of one of my daughters.

My daughter does pose for me, but with all the grumbling that goes along with it, the fleeting moments when she’s NOT making it difficult are hard to capture!  Five minutes and she’s DONE so I have to move quickly.
